So far [knock on wood] we have NO snow! The days seem to stay in the 40's. Everywhere you look people are decorating for the holidays. Not me! I still have Halloween stuff to put away! Don't worry, I'll get-er-done. I dressed up as a witch and read stories to elementary kids at 2 of my schools. That was fun! During the first weekend in November, Tina, Trudy and I travelled to Mpls. to shop in the Mall of America. [M.O.A.] We had a nice time.
Steve will move into his new house sometime after Thanksgiving. It is a one story house with 3 bedrooms on an acreage. He's only renting. The house is located 8 miles north from work in Valley Center, KS. Originally we had planned on Lynne and I going to Wichita for Thanksgiving to help him move. However, the house won't be ready. So, instead, he's coming North. He'll only be here from Nov. 24-27.
Marie and Jeff experienced a brief snow storm recently out in CO.
Geoff is now an Apple Specialist working in an Apple Computer Center. He's finishing up training now.
Lynne continues her studies at ISU. She's living at University Village now [cheaper] and has informed me that she will be staying in Ames over the summer. Last weekend she went "shopping" at Reiter Supplies & Grocery here at the Garner house to stock up on food and other stuff. I always have to go thru those boxes she loads in her car!
Not too much else going on...
UNTIL NEXT TIME, LOVE YA - TLESR

Back home again
We've all returned home.
Steve and me from Colorado, Jeff and Marie from Ireland, and Geoff and Lynne from Lake Okoboji.
Steve drove up to Fort Collins, CO, for the 4th of July. We drove up into Rocky Mountains National Park with Marie and Jeff, took a Haunted Fort Collins Tour, and enjoyed fireworks after supper at the home of Marie and Jeff's friends. Steve and I both headed home on July 5th.
Marie and Jeff returned from their 10 day trip to Ireland on June 30th. They had a good time. Steve and I watched all of their 700 pictures on large screen TV. Ireland really is a beautiful place.
Geoff and Lynne (and Geoff's girlfriend, Rebecca) were at Lake Okoboji over the 4th. On July 3rd they celebrated their cousin Jessie's upcoming wedding by participating in a bachelorette pub crawl via boat on the lake. Uncle Kevin and Geoff were the male chaperones for the group of 7 women! Talk about a party!
Well, that's the latest news!
Love ya, Theresa

Rocky Mountain High
Right now I am starting my 10 day stretch of dog sitting in Ft. Collins, CO. This morning I drove Jeff and Marie to the Denver International Airport to get on their plane headed to Newark, NJ. They leave tonight for Ireland where they will land in Shannon tomorrow. They fly out of Dublin on the 30th.
Jeff and Marie are part of a 12 member private tour group made up of Jeff's relatives. They will begin their guided tour in County Clare, travelling north along the coast, around the top of the island into Northern Ireland to Belfast, ending up in Dublin. The group is staying at several B&B's, hotels and even the Europa Hotel in Belfast. They will travel in a 20 seat passenger van. NICE!
Anyway, that's why I'm in Colorado. I'm dog sitting their 2 dogs - Jack & Lucy. I arrived here last Thursday with my 2 dogs - Cricket & Nattie. They all seem to get along together.
I followed my sister (Tina), her husband (Kevin), and daughters (Jessica & Sadie) to CO. We left last Wednesday from Iowa. They were attending the graduation of their nephew in Colorado Springs and stopped by FC to visit Marie & Jeff. They have since returned to Iowa. It was really great to have someone to follow to CO, even if Kevin drives a lot faster than me, and Tina rode with me most of the way. Funny how she never drove the car, though. I will have to drive back with just me and the 2 girl dogs.
Marie flew to MN last month to attend the Geoff's graduation from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Steve, Lynne and I drove up to join them. We enjoyed a brunch with Geoff's girlfriend (Rebecca) and her family before commencement and then supper with Geoff's Ole roommate (Erik) afterwards.
Geoff is now the owner of a golden retriever puppy, 'Maggie.' What do I say? He is living and working in Northfield.
Lynne is working at a preschool/day care center in Mason City and sometimes fills in at the DQ in Clear Lake. No travel plans for her! Her hours aren't too bad - 2-7pm M-F.
Earlier this month my dad (Stan) and I went to Keokuk, IA, for a 4 1/2 day visit. We stayed with my mom's sister (Mary Margaret). We visited my dad's brother and wife (Dewain & Ruth) in Hamilton, IL; toured Nauvoo, IL; ate catfish & carp; looked for geodes along the riverbank; had lunch with cousins (Bonnie, Bobbie, Carla, Louie, Billy & Blake); and visited family grave sites in 4 cemeteries.
I had to go to the dr. in CO last Friday. It seems that 2 of my psoriasis sores , 1 on each foot, became very infected. I was put on antibiotics. They are getting better by the day.
Steve is in the process of locating a new place to move to in Kansas. His lease is up in August. He's located a 3 bedroom home with a kennel on an acreage 8 miles from Wichita in a town called Valley Center. Looks promising. I will probably go down to see it in July.
All this traveling will make the summer go really quickly!
Until next time...
Happy Trails!

New-to-me Car
I now have a new-to-me car! Here's the story...... On 5-FEB, Lynne was driving my car when she was hit by another person. My car was totaled. I purchased a white suede, 2009 Ford Fusion. It has sync and Sirus radio! Steve happened to be up here when the accident occurred. He came back up again on the 19th to help me pick out car. Steve has been saving up for a new car too. He wants a 2011 Ford XLT pickup. Lynne or Geoff will probably inherit Steve's [old] Explorer.
I have a bunch of these red dots, of various sizes, all over my body and have been diagnosed with psoriasis. I'm putting cream on them daily and go back to the dermatologist on 10-MAR. They itch and they are everywhere!
Geoff will be graduating from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, during Memorial Day weekend in May. There are 2 days of planned activities for graduates, families & guests.
Did I tell you that Marie and Jeff are going to Ireland in June?!? They are! The plans are for the last week in June. They will join the tour group of Jeff's parents, his mom's siblings and their spouses, and his mom's mother.
Lynne is continuing in her work as a student at ISU.
I'll try to get some pictures up of the old/new cars.
Until then, Happy Life!

Hello, 2011!
The new year is here and off to a running start! Of course, here in Iowa it's one snow storm after another and VERY cold weather. So far (and cross your fingers) we haven't missed any school days yet. Last year the total was 10 days when it was said and done. The snow storms seem to happening on the weekends and holidays.
Steve will get some Iowa chill soon as cold (21 degrees!?!) is forecast for this week. The next few days bring some snow and frigid temps to us in Iowa.
Geoff went to the Bahamas on Jan 2nd for an interim with St. Olaf College. He is the head of the underwater camera crew that will explore a new-found underwater cave. He'll be there a month. I finally got to meet his girfriend, Rebecca S.!
Lynne has headed back to ISU as classes start Jan 10th. Her 1st semester went very well.
Marie has returned to CO after her internship with The Discovery Channel/The Learning Channel in Washington, D.C. She was there from mid-September to early December. Jeff held down the fort while she was gone. Lynne flew out to "The District" to visit Marie over Thanksgiving vacation. They had a very nice time seeing the sights.
Schools resumed on Jan 3rd. I go back to Waldorf College on Jan 11th, after being off for 3 weeks. I'll have to get used to those late night hours again! I had a cat scan to detect a hernia during vacation. Good news - no hernia, just a fat lump. It's up to me whether or not I have it removed.
We got together with the Sherrill and Reiter families over the vacation break. Christmas time doesn't seem quite the same without my Mom there. The Sherrills enjoyed listening to Damon Dotson perform at the Little Swan Lake Winery on Dec 26th. Watch the slide show to see pics.
Marie, Lynne, and I attended the bridal shower for niece/cousin Jessica R., bride-to-be of Jon W. Trudy, Kellie and Amy really did a nice job of decorating for the occasion! It was a very nice event. Jessica and Jon get married in September. Devin and Laura R. are expecting a child in late April/early May.
It was nice to visit with the Reiter families, some we hadn't seen in almost a year! Please keep our nephew, Chris R. in your thoughts and prayers as he is serving with the Army overseas. His new bride, Bonnie, misses him a lot. They are expecting a child in July, too. There are lots of little kids in this family group!
We hope the new year is starting out well for you and yours. Much happiness, love, and success for 2011.
Love ya,
Theresa Reiter
